Question:
I still don’t understand
God’s answer:
Faith and Good Deeds
They both matter.
Meaning:
-
One cannot claim to be a believer if one’s life does not exemplify
Christian values. God expounds on this in the Chapter:
The Promises of Salvation.
-
In the Chapter, the Path of Salvation, you will learn that entering Heaven
requires becoming perfect (holy). It may seem unfair that a good person
cannot begin the process of going to Heaven because he/she does not
believe in Jesus. However, this is not true. The work of God in perfecting
us is affected by who we are. The more “corruption” we have, the longer it
takes to perfect us.
Once a non-believer is converted, having a good moral character becomes a great advantage insofar as this person’s advancement towards perfection (holiness). So, it is possible that a non-believer who led a righteous life will enter Heaven earlier than a Christ believer who led a less righteous life.
